Leather, velvet and cotton applique bag. My art influences by designs and my designs influence by art - this bag is a perfect example of how.

The fabric on the front was a small sample I unearthed as I had a mass clear out of my studio - it was like finding treasure! Only a small piece, I had to make the most of it.

With the desire to bring the fabric to life I approached it like a painting seeing the fabric as my canvas.
Each leave and details as been freehand cut and appliqued using the original design as colour inspiration.
A collaboration of sorts with the first designer - whereever you are, I thank you for providing the inspiration for this bag.
